Esther Pereira is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and an English Language Program Teacher (ELPT) at Chicago Public Schools. Esther has been teaching as a bilingual teacher for five years and is very passionate about bilingual/dual language education. Esther believes that advocacy, equity, and empathy play a key role in supporting student learning. Throughout her teaching career, she has participated in district-wide committees, led teacher workshops, and presented at the ITBE 2020 45th Annual Convention. She received her BA in elementary education and was presented the Senior of the Year award from Elmhurst University. She was recently awarded a multilingual grant from Roosevelt University to pursue her MA in instructional leadership with principal licensure.
