Sara Pérez is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus California Emergent Bilingual Change Agent and elementary English language development teacher (ELD) on special assignment in Santa Clara Unified School District in Santa Clara, California. She leads districtwide professional development in ELD and English language arts, and provides instructional coaching and curriculum implementation support. Previously, Sara was summer school administrator for her district’s English Learner and Multilingual Learner Academy, lecturer in San José State University’s School of Education, bilingual instructional coach, and two-way immersion bilingual teacher. She is a graduate of the Learning Forward Leadership Academy (2024). Sara is a member of the California Association for Bilingual Education and the National Association for Bilingual Education. She has a BA in child and adolescent development from San José State University, holds a preliminary administrative services credential from the Santa Clara County Office of Education, and obtained an MA in elementary education, also from San José State University.
