Christine Persun is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow. She is a mathematics teacher at Mechanicsburg Middle School in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, where she runs the STEM Girls club and an onboarding summer camp for incoming 6th graders. Christine began her career teaching 4th grade, later moving to 7th grade math and 8th grade level STEM. She was named a University of Pennsylvania’s Center for South Asian Studies grant recipient, in which she traveled for three weeks in India and Nepal (2023). She also won Millersville University’s Young Alumni Achievement Award and was accepted into the National Women’s History Museum Classroom Resource Development Initiative. Christine earned her BSE in mathematics education and MEd in curriculum, assessment, and instruction from Millersville University, and an Instructional Coaching Endorsement from Immaculata University. She is currently completing her EdD at University of Pittsburgh, majoring in educational policy and social change.
