Angel Peterson is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Illinois Senior Leadership Fellow and 4th grade teacher at King Elementary School in Galesburg, Illinois. She serves on the district-wide curriculum leaders committee. She was selected as a Fulbright-Hays Award winner, studying in the Philippines, and previously served as an AmeriCorps VISTA worker. Angel is active as a local and state union leader. She earned a BA in elementary education from the University of Northern Iowa and is pursuing an MEd in curriculum and instruction at Western Illinois University.
