NuQuenyen Phillips

NuQuenyen Phillips is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow and grades 9-12 Teacher Academy/Educator Preparedness instructor at Greenville Technical Center in Greenville, Mississippi. She recruits and teaches students who aspire to be educators and serves as advisor for Greenville’s chapter of Educators Rising. Nuquenyen began her teaching career in 2007 as an English teacher and has since taught grades 6-12 in different capacities. Previously, she was School Improvement Coordinator at Coleman Middle School (2023-2024), serving as chair of the Multi-Tiered System of Support team. Nuquenyen was recognized by the Greenville Public School District for her students having the highest state assessment test scores in 6th-grade English language arts (2013-2014). She is a member of the Mississippi Association of Educators, where she serves as her school’s representative. Nuquenyen earned her BS in agribusiness management from Alcorn State University and MAT from Mississippi Valley State University.
