Rhonda Pierce is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Michigan Policy Fellow and grades 10-11 math teacher, specializing in geometry and Algebra II, at Detroit Leadership Academy in Detroit. She helps students develop their self-efficacy, autonomy, and agency. Rhonda taught various grades and subjects in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics prior to becoming a high school math teacher. She has served as director of youth ministries and assistant athletic director. Rhonda was named Mission of Change’s Civil Engagement Leader of the Year (2023-2024). She earned a BA in African studies with a concentration in development and public policies from Wayne State University and is pursuing an MS in curriculum and instruction from Western Governors University.
