Kevin Potter is a 2025-2026 Houston Policy Fellow who teaches 10th and 11th grade English at Deer Park High School in Deer Park, Texas. He specializes in supporting at-risk students and designing opportunities that nurture their voices and perspectives through writing. Kevin is a mentor teacher, member of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports team, and has piloted and sponsored his school’s Safe School Ambassador Program. He was named a Shining Star Teacher recipient (2023) and his campus’ Teacher of the Year (2024). Kevin holds a Principal as an Instructional Leader certification and is Advancing Educational Leadership certified. He earned a BA in economics and a double major in English from the University of New Mexico and MEd in educational leadership from Texas Tech University.
