Keke Powell

Keke Powell is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow and 2nd grade teacher at Sunfield Elementary in Buda, Texas. She helps students face challenges in the classroom by fostering a love of learning. Keke began her teaching career as a 2nd grade teacher in Hawaii. She was named a H-E-B Excellence in Education finalist (2023-2024), received the President’s Award for Influence of Accomplished Teaching from Texas National Board Certified Teachers (2024-2025), and was honored as the Spark Award’s Outstanding Elementary Science Teacher for Texas (2023-2024). Keke is a Texas State Teacher Association campus representative. She earned her bachelor’s in elementary education from Chaminade University of Honolulu and master’s in educational leadership from Hawaii Pacific University.
