Evonie Rash is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow and is a 7th and 10th-grade English Instructor at Simmons Junior-Senior High School in Hollandale. She focuses on teaching students in the areas of English and reading to prepare students for high-stakes testing, increase literacy, and prepare students to compete in a global society. Evonie currently serves as Parent Liaison, a member of the leadership team, and a Literacy Council member and has held many positions, including SLC Coordinator, cheer coach, educational consultant, and department lead. Evonie is working on her National Board Certification in English Language Arts, Adolescence, and Young Adulthood. She earned a BA in English from Tougaloo College, an MS in Literacy and Learning in the Content Areas (6-12) from Walden University, and an Educational Specialists degree in Educational Technology from Walden University. She is obtaining an MS in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
