Jesus Renteria

Jesus Renteria is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus California Emergent Bilingual Change Agent. He is an English teacher and English I professional learning community (PLC) coordinator at Hanford West High School in Hanford, California. Jesus works with students to foster multilingual development and equity in education. He has taught multilingual English language development (ELD) for 14 years, as well as courses in creative writing, journalism, and language acquisition. Jesus has worked for the Hanford Joint Union High School District for 17 years and been San Joaquin Valley Writing Project Teacher Leader and Associate Director for Work with Multilingual Students since 2018. In addition, he has begun the California Teachers Association’s (CTA) Ethnic Minority Early Identification Program (EMEIP). Jesus has a BA in English with a double major in Chicano Latino studies, as well as earned a single subject teaching credential, from California State University, Fresno, and MA in English from National University.
