Richard Wiley is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Nevada Teaching Policy Fellow. Richard teaches ESL and reading intervention at Mendive Middle School in the Washoe County School District in Reno, Nevada. He serves on the campus multi-tier support systems committee and oversees schoolwide progress monitoring of all Tier 2-3 reading, math, and special education classes. Prior to teaching in WCSD, Richard was a school principal and central office administrator as well as a high and middle school special education, history, and science teacher. He has lived and worked overseas in both the Far and Middle East. He is most proud of taking a Title 1 junior high school in Texas from a rating of low performing to high performing in under three years. He holds a BA in History from Texas Tech University, an MEd in Educational Administration from Texas State University, and an EdS in Educational Leadership from NorthCentral University.
