Dr. Cheryl Ring is a 2025–2026 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow and 10-12 grade teacher and STEM facilitator at West Memphis High School in West Memphis, Arkansas. She teaches aspiring teachers in a grow-your-own program and has previously taught Family and Consumer Sciences Program electives. An educator for 32 years, Cheryl taught in Johannesburg, South Africa, before moving to Arkansas. She was the West Memphis School District Teacher of the Year (2021-2022), Arkansas Teacher of the Year Finalist (2022-2023), and W!SE Personal Finance National Teacher of the Year (2021-2022 and 2022-2023). Cheryl earned her BA in secondary education with a major in home economics from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, MS with a major in family and consumer science from the University of Central Arkansas, Conway, and a doctorate in administrative leadership for teaching and learning K-12 from Walden University.
