Gerard Rivas is a 3rd grade dual immersion teacher at Mendota Elementary in Mendota, California. He is in charge of the PBIS Aztec Academy which helps students struggling with academic and behavioral issues. He leads the young author’s committee. He was part of the PBIS leadership team that developed the Mendota Elementary positive behavior model. He has also been team leader for 3rd grade.
Gerard began his teaching career in 2001 in Mendota, California as a bilingual teacher. In 2021, he began teaching dual immersion for 3rd grade. He earned a BA in liberal studies with a minor in biology and a BCLAD certificate at Fresno Pacific University.
