Phyllis Roberts is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Belonging, Empowerment, and Mentorship Network Facilitator and chemistry/physics teacher at Barack Obama Academy in Pittsburgh. She is a team leader and National Honor Society advisor. Phyllis began her teaching career in 1994 with Pittsburgh Public Schools. She is an active member of the scholarship committee at Macedonia Church of Pittsburgh, HBCU Collaborative, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Phyllis has a bachelor’s in chemistry from Lincoln University, an MAT in science education from the University of Pittsburgh, and a certificate in physics education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
