Ta’Nitra Robinson is a 2nd grade teacher leader, national trainer, and new teacher mentor at Bruce Elementary in Houston, Texas. She focuses on teaching children phonemic awareness and reading comprehension to ensure they read on or above grade level. Ta’Nitra is a former Career Pathway teacher leader and currently a national professional development trainer for American Federation of Teachers. She is also in her fourth year as grade level team leader. Ta’Nitra was Life Changer of The Year nominee (2018-19) and is a published author of The 187 School Day Challenge (2016). She began her teaching career in Houston as a 1999 Teacher Alternative Certification student and first year teacher, and has taught various grade levels between 1st-5th grade. Ta’Nitra earned her BA in Radio/Television and a Master’s degree in Education Administration from Prairie View A&M University.
