Rogelia Peña is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Change Agent Teacher Leader. Rogella is a 5th grade dual language teacher from Venezuela. At Carson Elementary, she serves on the dual language leadership team (DLLT) and co-presented on qualitative research on common dual language practices at two different conferences to advocate for elevating the status of Spanish in schools. Rogelia was awarded the Rochelle Lee award for fostering a love for reading in her bilingual students for four consecutive years in order. She graduated from Judson University with a BA in Elementary and Bilingual education and received her MA in Dual Language Teacher Leadership from Roosevelt University.
