Catherine Ross-Cook is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and is a 9th and 12th grade English teacher at Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School in Flossmoor. Catherine serves as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator on her campus and collaborates with district leaders to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices into institutional policies, practices, and procedures. In 2019, Catherine won the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching and was nominated for ISBE’s Those Who Excel award. Catherine earned a BA in American and English Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MA in American and English Literature from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, a secondary education teaching certification from Trinity Christian College and is pursuing an MA in Educational Leadership at Governors State University.
