Dr. Alissa Russell is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. Alissa teaches financial mathematics, college algebra, and college trigonometry at Life High School Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas. She is the mathematics department head and a teacher mentor at her campus. She has also served as the UIL academic coordinator and Senior Class Sponsor. Alissa received the State of Texas Charter Schools Association Teacher of the Year Award and National Association of Charter Schools Changemaker Teacher of the Year Award. She is currently pursuing National Board Certification and is an Advocacy Leadership Institute alumna. Alissa received a BA in mathematics from Dallas Baptist University, an MS in mathematics from Almeda University, and an MS in education and EdD in teacher leadership from Walden University.
