Sarah Said is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow and a 10th-12th grade ELL English teacher at Dream Academy High School in Elgin, Illinois. Sarah supports her school by learning mindfulness work for students and fellow staff and is one of the leads of her school’s continuous improvement team. At the district level, she serves as a pillar leader for the district equity team. Sarah has authored publications related to topics in ELL, SEL, and equity for publications such as Edutopia, Learning for Justice, Teaching Channel and Confianza. Sarah is a Governing Board Member representing the Kishwaukee Region at the Illinois Digital Educators Association. She is also a Board member at the Coalition of Schools Educating Mindfully. Sarah has a BA in English education with an ELL endorsement and an MEd in literacy, language, and culture from the University of Illinois. She completed her MA in educational leadership from Western Governors University.
