Nick Salazar is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Colorado Policy Fellow. Nick teaches 11th grade AP US history, standard US history, and AP art history at Boulder High School in Boulder, Colorado. Nick was part of a cohort through Boulder Valley School District that focused on expanding access to all students in AP-focused classes. Nick was the department head of social studies at Prospect Ridge Academy and was head varsity boys tennis coach at Boulder High. He received the Most Inspirational Teacher of the Year award from the Boulder Stake. Most recently, Nick was the recipient of the History Colorado Borderlands Teacher Fellowship program. He earned his BA in history from the University of New Mexico, and an MA in educational foundations, policy, and practice from the University of Colorado. He is working on his MA in American history from Adams State University.
