Leanne Samek is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus California Emergent Bilingual Change Agent, and K-5 resource literacy and math teacher at Fulton TK-8 School in San Diego. She is co-chair of the San Diego Unified School District Exemplary Teacher Advisory Committee, member of the Instructional Leadership Team, member of the School Site Council, secretary of the Site Governance Team, and co-founder of the non-profit It Takes a Village San Diego. Leanne was named Site Teacher of the Year for Audubon TK-8 School (2020) and District Teacher of the Year for Elementary School (2023). Leanne began her teaching career in 2007 in Seoul, South Korea. She is pursuing her National Board Certification. Leanne earned a BA in liberal arts, and MAT and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University San Marcos.
