Sarah Mulcahy is a Teach Plus Maryland Teaching Policy Fellow. Sarah is a special educator at Dodge Park Elementary in Landover, Maryland, where she leads a classroom spanning 4th through 6th grades. Sarah serves as the chairperson of the community referenced instruction program at Dodge Park, and is a part-time instructor at Fitchburg State University, where she co-teaches a professional development course on positive behavior interventions. She began her teaching career in 2007 as a special educator in Savannah, Georgia, and has also taught in Massachusetts. She discovered her passion for special education through spending five summers volunteering at Camp Arrowhead, a day camp for children and adults with special needs in Natick, Massachusetts. She eventually joined the camp’s staff and served as its director in 2010. Sarah holds a BS in Special Education from Fitchburg State University, and an MS in Special Education from the University of North Dakota.
