Lillian Scott

Lillian Scott is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow and English and foundations of journalism teacher at Thomas E. Edwards Sr. High School in Ruleville, Mississippi. She serves on her school’s leadership team and Student Activities Committee. Previously, Lillian was an English teacher and fluency tutor, American Association of University Women Student Leader, and graduate assistant for Delta State University’s Police Department. As a participant in Howard University’s Pre-PhD Summer Enrichment Fellowship, her research presentation garnered the best humanities presentation award (2020-21). Lillian was also selected as an Invisible Histories Project intern to increase the visibility of southern queer stories and build a network of qualified queer individuals (2023-24) and took part in the Teach for America IGNITE Fellowship (2023-24). Lillian earned two BA degrees in English and sociology from Tougaloo College and is pursuing an MS in social justice and criminology from Delta State University.
