Shamari Scott is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator, and high school English teacher at Lyons Township High School. He serves in a leadership role at his school as a member of the Restorative Practice committee, focusing on embedding restorative practices throughout his school district as well as within the classroom environment. He has also been a pioneer for instilling equitable practices throughout the school district through his role as an Equity Ambassador. He received a Golden Apple Award from his previous school district for creating a welcoming and engaging classroom environment. Shamari earned a BA in English and creative writing with a minor in politics from Loras College. He is currently pursuing his MA in educational leadership at Clark Atlanta University.
