Tanika Scott is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and is an Elementary Behavior Interventionist for kindergarten through 5th grade at James Alexander Avant Elementary School in East Saint Louis. Tanika focuses on teaching children behavior intervention strategies to increase student retention in classroom lessons. Tanika was trained as a special education teacher and technology teacher leader, in addition to serving as a teacher lead for the Parent Teacher Organization and Teacher Activity Leader. Tanika became a Restorative Practices trainer through the International Institute of Restorative Practices. She earned a BA in Psychology from Fisk University and an MA in Special Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
