Xitlali Sedano is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow. She is a 3rd grade teacher at B.W. Babcock Elementary in Sacramento, the same elementary she graduated from. She serves on the school’s leadership team, Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Team (PBIS), Culture Club, and is the school’s technology representative for the district. Additionally, she holds the role of Assistant to the Principal, which allows her to provide support to fellow educators. Xitlali has always worked in Title I schools, previously teaching high school science and 4th grade math/science. She earned a BS from the University of California, Merced. Xitlali is a 2019 Teach For America corps member, during which time she earned a teaching credential and a master’s in educational leadership from Texas Wesleyan University. Most recently, she was awarded a second master’s in curriculum and instruction from the American College of Education.
