Sara Sharer

Sara Sharer is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Colorado Policy Fellow, and K-5 English Language Development and Reading Intervention teacher at Cedaredge Elementary School in Cedaredge, Colorado. She was a founding board member for the first public K-6 Montessori school in Western Colorado, legal advocate for The Legal Center for People with Disabilities, director of the area’s Part C Individuals with Disabilities Education Act program, and coordinating director of a student choice-based charter school. She was selected as a Fulbright-Hays Seminar recipient to Iceland (2021 and 2023) and is a member of the RAND American Teacher Panel. Sara is the Socio-Political Special Interest Group Board Member for Colorado Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages. She also serves on her school district’s Coordinating Council. Sara earned a BA in political science and history from Ripon College, and MA in curriculum and instruction from the University of Colorado, Denver.
