Shaun McDonough is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow and an eighth-grade social studies teacher at Midtown Public Charter School in Jackson. Shaun has been teaching for four years and served as the social studies department head at his previous school. He’s been awarded the Lily Ann INSPIRE Teaching Award from the University of Mississippi and the PREPS-value-added award for his students’ academic success on the 2019 U.S. History MAAP assessment. He received his BA in International Studies from the University of Central Florida. He later joined the Mississippi Teacher Corps where he received his MAT from the University of Mississippi.
