Alison Shaw is a 2022-2023 Indianapolis Equity Change Agent, 9th-12th grade dual credit business teacher, and Black Student Union founding sponsor at Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. She influences the learning environment by providing a safe space for staff members to confront their own bias and learn to connect with students who are a part of marginalized groups. Alison teaches Digital Applications, a dual credit class that also culminates in formal certification through Microsoft, and entrepreneurship. She has worked closely with the Small Business Administration to bring in mentors to assist students as they start real businesses. Alison was named Franklin Central Teacher of the Year for the 2020-21 school year. Alison earned her BS in Marketing from Butler University and her MSM in Project Management from Kaplan University. She is currently in the research phase of her dissertation for her PhD in Organizational Leadership at Northcentral University.
