Michelle Sherman

Michelle Sherman is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow and reading specialist at Mechanicsburg Middle School in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. She teaches adolescent children foundational reading skills and guides them toward mastery of grade-level literacy. Michelle previously taught grades 4-5 in Virginia, served as grade 5-6 reading interventionist in Texas, and worked as K–5 reading specialist in Missouri. She has been a mentor teacher, instructional coach, and school leadership team member, as well as served on the Safe and Civil Schools Committee and led the Response to Intervention Committee. Michelle coaches junior high cheerleading. She holds a BS in elementary education from Bloomsburg University, and MEd in curriculum and instruction, with a focus as a literacy specialist, from the University of Mary Washington. Michelle has received dyslexia training from the Neuhaus Education Center and earned her dyslexia specialist certification through Brainspring Education Academy.
