Brittany Shoup

Brittany Shoup is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow and K-2 special education Teacher at Pittsburgh Westwood PreK-5 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, teaching students in need of emotional and behavioral support. She spent seven years as an early intervention teacher before becoming a special education teacher. Brittany was honored for Excellence in Teacher Leadership through the Local Task Force (2022), received the Distinguished Achievement Award through Pittsburgh Public Schools (2017), and was recognized for Outstanding Dedication to Membership Growth and Organizing by the American Federation of Teachers Pennsylvania (2023). She serves on the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers executive board and is a National Board Certified Teacher as an Exceptional Needs Specialist. Brittany earned both her BSEd in elementary and special education and MEd in early childhood education from California University of Pennsylvania. She also has a certificate in Structured Literacy from Robert Morris University.
