John Silva is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Chicago Change Agent. He teaches 11th and 12th grade math at Farragut Career Academy. He is a seasoned educator with 17 years of experience teaching mathematics, all of which he has dedicated to the Farragut community. With his extensive expertise and ongoing pursuit of professional development, John continues to make a significant impact on the students he teaches and the educational community he serves. He earned his BS in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and furthered his academic journey with an MA in educational leadership from American College of Education. John has his learning behavior specialist endorsement as well as a Type 75 certification. He is working toward an English Language endorsement, aiming to enhance his ability to support diverse learners in his classroom.
