Danielle Smiley is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow. She is a 4th grade English language arts teacher at Propel Northside K-8 in Pittsburgh, in her third year of teaching this grade level and content area. Danielle helps new teachers with classroom management procedures and also sits in on panels to provide information to aspiring teachers in the teacher residency program. She began her teaching career as part of the teacher residency program in cohort 7 (2021), starting in a kindergarten classroom. Danielle earned her BS in psychology with a focus on applied behavioral analysis, attending LA Roche University and Kaplan University. She received her teaching certification from Point Park University as a part of the Propel Schools Residency program.
