Beth Smith is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus New Mexico Change Agent and a 3-5 grade gifted and talented teacher, Robotics Facilitator, and tech lover at Valley View Elementary in Roswell, New Mexico. She focuses on teaching children in the area of giftedness, computer science, and STEM in order to empower them to enter a future workforce where innovation is still unfolding, and the job possibilities are limitless. Beth’s past leadership roles include AVID Site Coordinator at Valley View Elementary., Principal at Valley Christian Academy, Assistant Principal at Rio Rancho Public School. Beth was named 24-25 SCRATCH Education Collaborative participant and spoke at the 2024 NM Association for the Gifted conference on “CoDrone Pro – Beyond Brilliance: Mapping the Constellations of Giftedness.” Beth began her teaching career as a middle school social studies teacher and school testing coordinator and has since taught various grades between 2nd grade through college level business courses.
Beth earned her BA in Elementary Education, M.Ed. in Education with licensure in School Administration from Eastern New Mexico University.
