Jennifer Smith is a 2026-2027 Teach Plus Illinois Senior Policy Fellow and 6th and 7th grade science teacher at Mahomet-Seymour Junior High in Mahomet, Illinois. She works with preservice science educators as an adjunct faculty member at Illinois State University. Jennifer is a National Board Certified Teacher and has received the Association of American Chemistry Teachers Middle School Teacher of the Year award (2019) and the Golden Apple Teacher of Distinction award (2020). Jennifer holds an MS in English from Illinois State University, MS in elementary education from Eastern Illinois University, and MS in Teacher Leadership from the University of Illinois Springfield.
