Alexandrea Somers is a 2022-2023 Michigan Collaborative Teacher Leader, and a 4th and 5th grade English language arts teacher at Detroit Achievement Academy in Detroit, Michigan. She also serves as the 4th grade self- contained crew leader and 2nd grade self contained teacher at Brewer Academy. Alexandrea was awarded the Village Award by Strategic Community Partners in 2021. Alexandrea started her teaching career in Detroit as a 2019 Teach for America corps member. She is now a Encore Fellow and Black Educator Fellow through TFA. She earned her BA in Public Policy from University of Michigan.
