Almudena Soto Villalba is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow. She is a Spanish bilingual teacher, K-2 Bilingual Lead Teacher, and a Leader in Me Lighthouse Lead at Tierrasanta Elementary in San Diego. Almudena is a two-time Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity (SEED) Seminar Certificate recipient at the National SEED Project, and is an alumna member for the Leadership, Equity and Access for Languages (LEAL) Project at San Diego State University. She believes in the power of multilingual education to expand opportunities, nurture cultural identity, and foster inclusive school communities. Almudena earned a bachelor’s in international business from San Diego State University and MEd from The George Washington University. She holds two Single Subject Certifications in Spanish and English as a Second Language, Multiple Subject Certification, Bilingual Authorization in Spanish, and is working toward a Reading and Literacy Added Authorization.
