Chrissie Souders is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus New Mexico Alumni Policy Fellow. Chrissie is a structured literacy coach for Southwest Regional Education Cooperative in Deming, New Mexico and is a tutor with Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia. She works with K-4th grade teachers on providing support in lesson planning, presenting lessons, focusing on student learning and data with structured literacy. She has been the student assistant team coordinator, a lead teacher, and worked on the scope and sequence committee for her previous district. She was a member of the Principal Evaluation Task Force for the New Mexico Public Education Department. She earned her BS in elementary education with endorsements in language arts and science as well as her MA in interdisciplinary studies with a focus on reading and SPED from Western New Mexico University.
