Luisa Sparrow is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Massachusetts Policy Fellow who teaches self-contained special education to 4th-6th graders at the Perry K-6 School in South Boston. She serves on her school’s instructional leadership team and leads the special education-moderate intellectual impairment team. Luisa was named a Fenway Bowl Honor Roll Top Educator (2020) and a Rio Grande City Grulla Consolidated Independent School District Teacher of the Year (2007). She began her teaching career in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas as a 2005 Teach for America corps member and has worked as an educator in Costa Rica, Delaware, and Philadelphia. Luisa earned her BS in Human Development from Cornell University, her MEd in Language and Literacy from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and is a National Board Certified Teacher: Exceptional Needs Specialist.
