Crystal Sterner is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Policy Fellow. Crystal is an Emotional Support teacher for students in grades 9-12 at William Allen High School in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She supports her special education students by obtaining grants to provide them with a variety of activities and opportunities to enhance their holistic well-being. Crystal supports her colleagues as a union rep and as a DonorsChoose Ambassador. Crystal has been recognized as a Teacher Innovation Grant recipient. She earned a BA in political science and BA in communication studies at Cedar Crest College, and an MEd in secondary education with certifications in social studies 7-12 and special education from Cedar Crest College. She completed English as a second language program specialist certification through Lehigh University and supervisor of special education certification through Gwynedd Mercy University. She is currently working on her EdD in educational leadership with a concentration in special education at Gwynedd Mercy University.
