Melissa Steward is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Equity Leadership Institute member and 8th grade English language arts teacher at Gateway Middle School in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. She helps children engage their prior knowledge and experiences to help grow their personal and professional expression. Melissa started her career teaching social sciences to various grades between 7-12. She earned her BA in integrated social studies education from Bowling Green State University and MEd in curriculum and instruction from Gannon University.
