Cleo Stewart

Cleo Stewart is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Aspire Teacher Advisory Cabinet Member. She is a passionate educator in her 7th year of teaching. Cleo is deeply committed to supporting the social and emotional well-being of her students. She firmly believes that education goes beyond academics and that students should feel seen, heard, and valued in their learning environments to actualize their potential. In addition to her work as a classroom teacher, Cleo has been a strong advocate for equity and engagement within her school community. She previously served as the Equity and Family Engagement Lead, where she focused on increasing equity development and creating a more inclusive school culture. Currently, she serves as the Pro-Black Coordinator and moderator of the Black Student Union (BSU), roles that allow her to further her passion for supporting Black students and celebrating their culture, history, and identity. Through these initiatives, Cleo has created spaces where students can explore their heritage, discuss challenges they face, and build community. Cleo graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and went on to earn her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of the Pacific where she gained advanced knowledge in designing effective and inclusive learning experiences for diverse learners.
