Emily Sturt is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Colorado Policy Fellow. Emily teaches inclusive early childhood special education at Widefield North Preschool in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She focuses on writing and implementing Individualized Education Plans as well as supporting her students’ social-emotional skills through intrinsic motivation, intentional dialogue, and an appreciation of diversity within their classroom community. Emily has taught orphans and disadvantaged children in Ukraine, as well as 2nd, 6th, and 7th grades in Zambia. She earned her BS in inclusive early childhood education at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
