Megan Syed is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Michigan Policy Fellow and serves as an English Language Learner (ELL) coach at Lincoln Park High School in Lincoln Park, Michigan, where she co-teaches language arts. Previously, she taught and coached ELL in Detroit Public Schools, where she was recognized as Teacher of the Year (2018 and 2019). Megan has presented at international, national and regional conferences including those for the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol, Michigan Association for Bilingual Education, Michigan Special Populations, and St. John Early Learning Center in the Philippines. She is pursuing National Board Certification and enjoys designing instructional resources to support fellow educators. She has a bachelor’s in elementary education from Eastern Michigan University, MA in educational psychology from Eastern Michigan University, and MA in English language learning from Western Governors University.
