Taylor Hawkins teaches Algebra 1 and Geometry at Lanier High School in Austin, where he also serves as Algebra 1 PLC Lead, an instructional coach, and as an AISD demonstration classroom teacher.
Taylor has previously taught in a variety of contexts including at an elementary school in Puebla, Mexico, a middle school in Phoenix, Arizona, medical students at Inonu University in Malatya, Turkey, and teachers at IWE Girl’s School in Kigali, Rwanda. Outside of the classroom, Taylor helps to advance educational outcomes for his students by serving as a board member with Austin Kids First Action. Previously, he has sat on Dr. Cruz’s Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Council and on the Teach for America Austin Alumni Board as chair of the Educator Support Committee. He holds a BS in International Studies from Texas A&M University and a MEd in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.
