Kandice Taylor is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus Mississippi Policy Fellow and a 7th-grade teacher leader and team lead at Kirksey Middle School in Jackson, Mississippi. Previously, she served as Science Department chair. Kandice was Brinkley Middle School’s Teacher of the Year (2023), Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching state finalist (2023), and Bob Thompson Energy Award Recipient (2023). She is a member of the National Science Teacher Association. Kandice earned a BS in biology and an MAT from Jackson State University.
