Renee Thomas is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow, and a U.S history and Spanish teacher at Marston Middle School in San Diego, California. She believes in educating the whole child, and is a strong advocate for restorative justice and project-based learning. Renee is currently a project-based learning team leader and acting union representative. She was a District Teacher of the Year Runner Up for the San Diego Unified School District in 2021 and one of two San Diego County Teacher grant recipients from the College Football Playoff Foundation in 2021. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics and teaching credential in Spanish, Social Science, and Economics with a CLAD and GATE certification from San Diego State University. She earned her Master’s in Teaching with an emphasis in Educational Technology from National University.
