Tammy S. Thomas is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. Tammy is an inclusion teacher for the subjects of math, social studies, and science at Dr. Todd Sr. Middle School in Dallas, Texas. She delivers educational support for students with special needs in the general education classroom, and she sponsors the ESports and Robotics Teams. She works with Texas Teach to document first year teachers’ growth and needs. Previously, she held an adjunct position at Dallas Community College as the GED instructor for the Dallas County Jail System. She began her teaching career teaching high school students and later moved to middle school. She has a BS in political science and pre-law from Texas College and an MA in curriculum, assessment and instruction from Walden University.
