Tierney Eppinger is a 2020-2021 Teach Plus Illinois Early Childhood Educator Policy Fellow who teaches Pre-K at North Elementary School in Waukegan School District #60. Tierney has developed and hosted cultural events for her school to celebrate Black History and Hispanic Heritage. She has experience as a Head Start Director, Assistant Principal and Principal. She was nominated as Administrator of the Year by the ladies of the National Association of University Women (NAUW). Tierney became a teacher after teaching in a childcare center in high school. Tierney has a BA in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University. She has two MAs in Urban Studies from Cambridge College and Curriculum and Instruction from Cardinal Stritch University. She also has a EdD in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University.
