Dolores Torres is a 2025-2026 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow and preschool teacher at Jefferson State Preschool in Lennox, California. She has been a preschool teacher for more than 20 years, supporting and scaffolding the cognitive, physical and emotional development of young children. Dolores has been featured in research books and in videos, focused on children’s mathematics and the young child. She is a teacher representative for the Parent Advisory Council, union site representative, and part of the negotiating team for Chapter 575. Dolores earned an associate’s in early childhood through Eastern Gateway Community College and currently is pursuing her bachelor’s and Science in Education Pk-5 credential from Central State University.
